November Steps: a title borrowed from one of the most intriguing musical work in the twentieth century. Composed by Toru Takemitsu in 1967, it can be defined as a concerto for two Japanese instruments (the shakuhachi flute and the biwa) and symphonic orchestra. This is a period of reconciliation for Takemitsu, who had so far rejected the traditional Japanese music in favor of classical western music: with November Steps, he gives us a stunning poem, a suspended moment in which the two cultures engage the dialogue and echo each other.
This piece is for us simply definitional of what open-mindedness is ; its kind energy has inspired us the creation of this blog, in which you will soon find albums and concerts reviews, interviews, indie artists presentations… We’ll put the spotlights on uncommon projects, experimentations ; we’ll try to be a source of inspiration for music producers, artists and all the players of the industry.
We hope to see you again in the future!
